Happy Tuesday, millennials!
We’re so excited to finally introduce the newest Millennial on a Mission on our website. Now, it’s no surprise that millennials dread the idea of managing student loans. Luckily, this millennial is passionate about helping her peers handle them by providing legal counsel when it becomes overwhelming.
We’d like for you to meet Claire Crowley, Esq.
Hailing from Connecticut and currently living in Vermont, Claire is an attorney who practices student loan law. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire School of Law, she began her specialized practice. “Currently, I help clients (mostly millennials!) deal with the legal issues of student loans – such as default,” Claire says. ” I also help them manage their student loans properly.”
MOAM: What inspired you to pursue your choice of career? Who are some individuals you admire in and out of your field of work? What challenges have you faced in building your business/brand, and what have you learned from them?
CC: I was inspired to start a student loan legal practice because almost everyone I know has student loans – and are confused about how to handle them! There’s also very few student loan lawyers in the country so I felt like this was an area where I could help a lot of students and graduates who have student loan debt. The most difficult challenge I have faced is taking the leap to start my legal practice right after law school – it’s a scary thing to do but it has been rewarding and I’ve learned to never give up and just focus on my goals.
To Claire, a Millennial on a Mission is someone who represents our generation in a unique way – and strives to help other millennials on their own missions. “To accomplish my dreams and goals, I make sure to look at issues with the attitude: ‘one day at a time,'” Claire says. Her advice to her millennial peers? “Don’t get lost in how to accomplish the bigger picture, but focus on taking small steps that will lead you to your goals.”
